| Problem: TMB Substrate turns blue right out of the bottle. Possible Causes: | |
| 1. | TMB can be activated by many objects with chemicals on their surface. Glass test tubes must be avoided, as contact with this surface will rapidly turn the TMB blue. It is recommended that plastic pipette tips are used for all necessary measuring of this reagent. If your particular pipette tips initiate this reaction, test other available pipette tips. Sunlight is also to be avoided, as the UV light will rapidly compromise the TMB Reagent. |
